The St Albans Half Marathon is one of the friendliest running events in the UK and the only one to give you an ice lolly at the finish line! #icelollyrun
An event where the community come together to inspire one another to be active whilst raising money to support local voluntary organisations and charities!
With races for all ages and abilities, it is the perfect event for anyone looking for a new challenge, to beat their personal best, raise money for charity, or just a great way to get the whole family active. Our races include...
Last year over 6600 athletes helped to raise a massive £25,000 for local charities. The event saw groups from the whole community coming together to help marshal, hand out water, encourage runners and, of course, give out ice lollies at the finish line!
As we go into our 35th year, we are continuing to make the event bigger and better. This year we are increasing entry limits, making a wider range of merchandise available, and introducing a new “Corporate Challenge”. We hope to raise even more money than last year to enable us to continue to support local charities, schools and activity groups.
We hope you can join us for a fantastic community event as we know you will finish with a smile on your face! But don't just take our word for it...
“I've completed 25-30 events in recent years, none of which were marshaled as brilliantly as St Albans Half Marathon - not just the numbers, but the great attitude too!”
“One of the friendliest events on the calendar - great stuff!”
“Beautiful course and encouraging marshals”
“A very enjoyable event! A testing but lovely course with nice scenery and great support from locals and marshals. Nice t-shirt, medal and goodies at the finish line - We will be back next year.”
“My favourite race of all time.....come back each year for the ice lolly!”
Keep an eye out for our social media pages - not only will you be able to keep up with the progress of the event, but we will also be posting competitions in the lead up to the event.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 12th June 2016!
Here are a few highlights we had put together from 2015's event!
