Please arrive early to the event to allow plenty of time for travel and race preparation.

Race numbers are individual to you and cannot be swapped or resold. Please fill in your medical details on the reverse. Remember to bring safety pins and attach your number to the FRONT of your top.
We will be using a shoe chip timing method to give half marathon runners, walkers and 5K runners an accurate finish time. Please follow the instruction on the tag about how to attach it to your trainer.
A free baggage facility will be available in the Runners Village. Your baggage tag is located at the bottom of your race number; please make sure it is attached to your bag before dropping it off. The baggage tent is open 7am – 2pm.
Medical information provided in your registration will be passed on to the Event First Aiders. If you would like to speak with the First Aid Team before the race to discuss a specific condition, they will be based by the finish line and be happy to speak with you.
For half marathon runners only. We have four timing pens at the start line this year. The colour of your race number is the colour of your starting pen and is based on the pen you chose with your registration based on your estimated finish time. . Please make your way to the correct colour pen which will be clearly marked. Don’t worry; your chip time won’t start until you cross the start line.
Our Official Race Pacer Partner is Xempo, who will be providing a variety of pacers to help you finish the race in a specific time. All pacers will be highly visible in the starting pens, wearing flags with “Xempo” and their target time written clearly on them. There will be meeting points situated across the Runners Village to help you find friends and family. Please see the Runners Village Map for exact locations.
If you have any questions or issues please make your way to the information point in the Runners Village where a member of the events team will be able to help you.
Each mile will be clearly marked for runners and walkers.
We have 9 water stations on the Half Marathon routes, 2 on the 5K route and 1 on the Fun Run. Water will be provided in cups, please feel free to take as much water as you need, especially if it is a hot day. Please do not throw the cups into the bushes, but put them in the marshal bins or drop them at the side of the road to be collected after the race.
Energy gels will be available at the water station at approximately 6 and 10.5 miles.
There will be toilet facilities in the Runners Village as well as on the half marathon route. Please refer to the route map for exact locations.
Please dispose of rubbish in the bins provided to help us keep our park clean and prevent tripping hazards for other participants and spectators.
Our volunteer marshals will be positioned at regular intervals on all routes to direct you, ensure you are safe and to keep you smiling to the finish line. Please obey their instructions at all times.
Half Marathon Only -
For 2017 we will be allowing the use of Bone Conduction headphones ONLY but the runner must declare this in their registration form before the event or they may still be disqualified. Any runner seen using any other form of headphone or who has not declared using bone conduction headphones will be disqualified. In 2016, 70 runners were disqualified for breaking this rule.
The Race Director has taken advice and in-line with current UKA and BARR recommendations on health and safety grounds when establishing our headphone policy. This is for your safety, as listening to music during a race may distract you from being able to hear instructions from race officials and other runners on the course. Please respect our rules, we don’t have many.
Other Races -
Headphones are allowed but please be mindful of others around you.
The main first aid area is located next to the finish line and there will be first aiders positioned around all race routes and in the Runners Village. In the event of an emergency, participants will be asked to move to the side to allow access for the emergency vehicle. Please follow instructions of the marshals as they are there to keep you safe.
Please check the time limit of you race on our website. We only have the road closures for a set period of time, if we feel you are not going to finish the race within this time you will be shown a shorter route or be provided a lift back to the Runners Village. If you have any concerns, please contact us to discuss further.
Unable to Finish
If you sustain an injury during the race or are unable to finish the race for any reason, please report to your nearest marshal who will arrange for the recovery vehicle to take you back to the Runners Village.
All Half Marathon runners and walkers should be aware that the roads can be uneven. We will do our best to highlight any major tripping hazards but please be careful.
Resulted will be posted on our website straight after the race. You can also collect a print out of your official race time on your way through the finish funnel.
We do allow wheelchairs and prams in the fun run, however the route is mainly on grass so may not be suitable in wet weather.
No dogs are allowed in any of the races.
BBQ’s are not permitted at any location within Verulamium Park.
Come down to The Holly Bush Pub (Situated in Potters Crouch) before 10 am and you will be able to watch the runners come past for both 6 and 10 Miles. You will be able to pick up some breakfast snacks, tea's/coffees and maybe you could stay and enjoy some lunch after the race.
You can park in their car park (limited space so arrive early to avoid disappointment) and will be able to leave after the last runner has passed after approximately 11.30am.
