On the Day
Where can I park? And are they free?
We have provided 2 free car parks for participants. There is very limited parking available in Verulamium Park, so we advise runners/walkers to seek parking outside of Verulamium Park to avoid disappointment, delays and traffic congestion. Details of these car parks, as well as a map can be found here: http://www.stalbanshalfmarathon.co.uk/Event_Info/Travel_Arrangements.htm
Where is the nearest train station?
The nearest train station is St Albans City Train Station. Please note that St Albans City Train Station is a 15-20 minute walk from Verulamium Park. Taxis and buses will be in operation, but please add additional time to your journey when using these travel options.
Where is the Runners Village?
What time can I collect my race pack on the event day?
Race number collection is available from 7am. Please make your way to the runner’s village and you will see clear sign posts to the numbers tent. If you are collecting race numbers we recommend you allow at least 45 minutes before your race starts.
What time should we get there?
Participants gather at the start line 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time. There are plenty of activities to do in the Runners Village pre and post races.
Are there showers and changing facilities?
Yes there are shower and changing facilities in the Abbey View building which are free for all runners to use. We are also looking to get additional changing facilities in the runner village but this will be confirmed nearer the time of the event.
Is there a pre-race warm up?
Yes, there will be a warm up led by an instructor on the stage before each race.
Will there be anywhere to store my bag during the race?
Yes we have a secure baggage area available in the Runners Village free of charge.
Where can my family watch?
The Runners Village layout will be changing for 2016 but spectators will still be able to watch the start and finish lines. Spectators viewing areas will be clearly marked on the map in your race programme, or will be available on our website soon.
The best view of the start/finish line will be from the VIP garden. You can buy spectator VIP passes, for more information click here.
Spector’s are also welcome to watch runners on the route. Please see route maps here.
When will the results be posted?
The results will be posted on the homepage of our website within 24 hours. If you provide a mobile number within your registration, you will also be sent a text of your gun and chip time.
