Race Entry

What does the entry fee include?
The entry fee is used towards the logistics of hosting the event, with 100% of the event profit being donated to local charities. All finishers will receive a medal, technical t-shirt, post-race goodies, water and ice lolly.  

How do I know if my entry has worked?
You will receive a confirmation email from Active Network confirming your registration; this can take up to 24 hours to arrive. If you do not receive this please email adminSAHM@1life.co.uk with your full name and date of birth.

Do I qualify for UKA Affiliated entry?
To qualify for UKA Affiliated entry, your running club must be recognised via the UKA Governing Body. We will ask you for your Competition Licence Number also known as your URN (Unique Registration Number) from your competition licence when registering.

When do entries close?
Entries will close at 11.59pm on Tuesday 5th June 2018. However, please note that some races did sell out before the closing date last year, so we recommend registering early.  

Can I enter on the day of the event?
No, we do not accept entries on the day of the event.

Why do I have to pay for postage?
With the event increasing in size each year the charge for postage has become very high and as a charity we can no longer afford to subsidise this cost. We have decided to charge a small amount for postage this year to ensure as much money as possible can be donated to our charitable causes.

If I am having trouble entering online what do I do?

I have changed address since entering, how can I change my details?
Changes to your address can be made up to 11.59pm Monday 7th May by logging into your account at https://myevents.active.com/. This link is also included on your confirmation email. If you need to change your address details after this date please contact Head Office on 01727 819327.

What is the minimum age to enter the race?
The minimum ages all participants must be on race day are as follows;
Half Marathon – 17 years
Walking Half – 17 years
5K – 11 years
1.5 Mile Fun Run – All ages. Please note: Infants are welcome to be pushed around in a pushchair or carried but must still be registered for legal reasons. They will receive the same benefits as adults, including a finisher t-shirt. You are welcome to put their race number on the buggy if you would prefer.
Please note that there is no upper age limit for any race. 

Can I push a buggy in the 1.5 Mile Fun Run?
You can push a buggy around the 1.5 Mile Fun Run but please register the child individually as both adult and child must have a race number. You can place the child’s race number on the buggy if you prefer.

What will the payment show up as on my bank statement?
The registration fee will appear from Active on your bank statement, not St Albans Half Marathon. Active are the registration company we use to manage the registrations for the event.

Why have I been charged an admin fee from Active?
Active will charge a small administration fee for all payments. As a charity event we cannot afford to subsidise this cost for all participants.

What do I do if my estimated finish time has changed?

Can I enter a friend?
Yes you can register and pay for a friend. You can complete both your registrations at once by selecting multiple entries. You will be asked to sign the wavier on their behalf. You can also enter in different categories.
Please note if you are registering a family in the Fun Run and another person in a different category. The active account you use must be the team captain of the Fun Run. 

Can I enter my whole family?
Yes families can register for the 1.5 mile fun run. Simply click ‘Fun Run – Family’ when selecting which race you wish to enter. It will then ask you to select how many members of your family you wish to register. After completing the initial person’s information it will only ask for a few details of the remaining members. Families must be a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 8 people. Family registration is only available for the fun run.

Can I pre-pay for people?
We no longer offer a pre-pay option however you can now purchase multiple entries at once. You will need the following details from each person you would like to purchase a space for;

It only says I can pay by credit card?
We use is an American company for our payments; if you select credit card it will accept your debit card details.
