1.5 Mile Childrens Fun Run

fun run 1With a route around the stunning Verulamium Park, the 1.5 Mile Fun Run is a great way to get the kids active at the start of summer!  Children aged 9 and over can run it alone, but those 8 years and under must run with an adult.  Our marshals will cheer you on and entertain you with their fancy dress the whole way round, and there's even a free ice lolly waiting for you at the finish line!

  • 1.5 Mile Fun Run is for children aged 12 and under.
  • The event takes place within the grounds of Verulamium Park.
  • There will be water points and marshals situated along the course.
  • Parents / Guardians and other family members are welcome to enter with their children/ siblings but a race number must be worn. Please note that ages 13+ will not be eligible to win a prize, but can still take part.
  • Children aged 8 and under MUST be accompanied by a registered paying adult. Please select the new "Family Ticket" option.

PRIZES

Due to unsportsmanlike behaviour in previous years, the committee have taken the decision to remove prizes for under 12's in the Fun Run.  We would like the event to continue to be fun whilst encouraging children to get active and raise money for charity.

PRIMARY SCHOOL CHALLENGE

Awarded to the primary school with the highest number of entries in the 1.5 mile Children's Fun Run. Please note: To qualify towards the challenge children must be aged 12 and under and attend the school they are running for. Size of school will be taken into consideration for the challenge winners. SPONSORSHIP

The St Albans Half Marathon is a charitable event. Proceeds for registration fees, for all events, will go to our supported charities which are chosen by the community.  You are welcome to get sponsorship for your event, which can go towards our chosen charity or to a charity of your choice.  Simply click on the "Start Fundraising" button on the right to get started!

LATE ENTRIES

Late Entry fee applies from 15th May 2017 until registrations close on 6th June 2017. The cost of this will be £9 entry fee per person.

Please Note: We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an application/entry. We may also alter aspects of one or all of our events including routes, starts and finishes and water points.

CANCELLATIONS AND TRANSFERS

You have the right to cancel your place in any one of our events and receive a full refund (excluding admin fee) if your cancellation is done within 7 days of your entry date. After this period we regret that we will not refund any entry fees, whether due to injury, illness, lack of training or a last minute change of plan.

Participants are able to transfer to a different race or transfer their registration to another participant.  This option is only available until 1st May 2017 and an additional charge of £2 will be made to the participant who wishes to transfer.  If a participant is transferring to a race with a cheaper entry fee the difference is non-refundable. 

If a participant is unable to attend the event and doesn’t wish to transfer their place, they can contact St Albans Half Marathon via email with their name and date of birth to request a deferral discount code. This code will entitle them to 50% off 2018’s event registration for any race and will be valid for one use until 30th September 2018.
